Ajeet Pal's dream of starting a school for handicapped beggars from the streets of Delhi became a reality in March of 2001. Initial donations have made it possible for Ajeet to open up a center to not only teach Indian handicrafts but also English and rudimentary business skills.
(counter-clockwise from top) Ganga, 12, is learning candlemaking and incense preparation. Ramesh, 16, uses sandals on his hands to pull himself through the streets of Delhi. Soon he will have a backpack full of crafts to sell. Manoj, 12, takes a break from English lessons given by professor Ajeet.
